Poultry feed production is very common technology. Mainly formulation, grinding, mixing and pelleting. Layer feed is produced mainly in self-mixing plants at farmlevel. Due to increase of developing better strains of hens there is also a higher requirement for the quality of the feed. But this does not show at all. Vertical mixers are the standard, whereas they cannot produce homogen feed. Horizontal mixers can produce high quality feed in a shorter time with less labor. The focus should be on the quality of the feed produced, not on the availability of low cost labor. We can provide special designed mixing lines for layer feed production.

Another point is the particle size of the feed, since most rations use a rather big percentage of corn, there is sufficient opportunity to increase the particle size of the corn. The best results will be produced by rollermills. (as is very common in the USA). A very homogeneous and big particle size will be produced. We can provide special grinding lines with hammermills or rollermills for layer feed production.

For accurate bagging we can provide digital bagging scales, with screw or belt feeder. Broiler feed is mostly in the form of pellets or crumbles. For the production of good quality pellets it is essential to have a homegen particle size. Grinding is important. We can provide special designed grinding lines for use in broiler feed production.

For homogeneity a horizontal mixer is required, for efficient production oil addition at the mixer is required. In the case of factory’s there still several other ingredients which are added in liquid form at the mixer. We can provide special designed mixing lines for broiler feed production, including liquid additions scales (or flow meters) at the mixers. Mixers for broiler feed can be ribbon type or paddle type. We can also provide the special designed double shaft paddle mixer.

Good quality pellets have a high PDI (Pellet Durability Index). This can only achieved by pelleting with steam addition. Due to the tropical climate it is not so easy to add sufficient steam into the feed prior to pelleting. Special attention is needed to design the steamsystem in order to provide low pressure and dry steam. The addition of steam will be at the feedconditioner. The newest trend is the use of LTC (Long Time Conditioner) or Hygienizer or any other name. The purpose is to hold the feed at a high temperature for a longer time. 2- 4 min. 4 minutes is required for killing salmonella. Special for production of crumbles (after pelleting followed by cooling) high PDI is required. Pelleting or crumbling is followed by sieving to remove the fines, so the result is pellets or crumbles. We can provide the special designed pelleting/crumbling lines(with ring die), with steam addition for use in the production of broiler feed. For farm use we can provide the small capacity flat die pelletmill. Suitable for the production of broiler pellets, raw material pellets (katul/dedak, or tapioca) or even fertilizer.Capacity range for 100kg/h to 900 kg/h. For special applications we can also add the steam system, in order to improve the quality of the pelleted feed.
