Aqua feed, can be as pellet, sinking or floating. Sinking feed can be produced with same equipment as broiler feed. With exception for shrimpfeed which need special equipment. In general the preparation for aquafeed starts with grinding. This can be a two-step grinding or single fine-grinding. Two-step grinding is general in connection with bigger capacity’s. smaller capacity’s will use single step fine-grinding. The use of so-called pulverizers is not recommended any more due to the high cost of electric energy that they require. We can provide special designed fine-grinding hammermills for use in aquafeed production.

Fine grinding hammermills can also be used for other application, like ricehulls, wood etc. Mixing line need attention special the hoppers below and above, since the product is very fine and therefor tends to stick to walls etc. also the water addition must be with fine spray to prevent the forming of lumps. We can provide the special designed mixing line for use in aquafeed production.

Floating feed can be produced only by extrusion. That can also only achieved by adding sufficient moisture to the feed prior to extrusion. Then the high pressure and high temperature due to friction and steam addition will result in evaporation of the water and expansion of the pellet after discharging from the extruder die.Since the pellet still has a very high moisture content after the extruder, this process must be followed by drying and cooling. Common practice is the coating with oil between drying and cooling. We can provide special designed extruderline for use in aquafeed production.

For farm use we can provide the small capacity extruder. Suitable for the production of floating fishfeed pellets. Capacity range for 100kg/h to 900 kg/h.
